A
Web site launched by the Vatican Congregation for the Clergy on December 10,
2007 allows you to access Bible verses with exegesis from doctors of the
Church or cross reference liturgical texts with commentaries from Church
Fathers. The site at www.bibliaclerus.org offers six categories in nine
languages. It also gives the option of downloading the site's content. The
nine translations of the Bible, including Hebrew and Greek, can be
read side-by-side, as can the Eastern and Latin Codes of Canon Law.
http://www.clerus.org/bibliaclerus/index_eng.html has the English version.
This looks like a great site for all you Scripture lovers!
Download the program. It is a wonderful Christmas gift from the Holy See. I
have not yet figured out how to use all of the features, but it offers Hebrew,
Greek, Latin, and English (plus other modern languages which I did not download)
all cross-referenced instantly to the entire library included in the
resources. The texts in the library are also directly available to read, with
instant cross-referencing and linking to the footnotes and other citations. The
online version is not at all a good indication of the downloadable version.
It takes just under a gigabyte of hard drive space, but it seems well worth it.
But, overall, it is dazzling
